After, exploring 15 cities in the continent of Australia, I decided to make this video to summarize my journey. Highlights including scuba diving, hugging a koala bear, trekking through a glowworm cave, and playing at the Australian Open venue.

Huge thanks to Yale, Catherine, Jessica and Yuwei for accompanying me in this trip!

Day 24

We woke up early and hiked up Mount Victoria. The hike was modest and it was only 196 metres high.

At the top of mountain, we were able to see the skyline of Wellington

A significant symbol of New Zealand is the fern tree leaf, similar to a maple leaf to Canada. Below, Jessica was holding a branch of fern tree leaves.

After climbing down Mount Victoria, we walked around Cuba Street of Wellington.

We spent the rest...

Day 23

A significant part of New Zealand’s culture is influenced by the Maori civilization, the indigenous population of New Zealand. The culture was apparent when the airport had two languages displaying on all signs, especially the phrase “Kia Ora”, which means “hi” or “be well”. We decided to learn about the Maori culture and visited one of their villages in Rotorua. In addition, Rotorua is also famous for its geothermal ac...

When Peter Jackson was scouting for a place to film the Shire, he was on a helicopter and a massive tree caught his attention. This tree stood in the middle of a field and was the perfect...

Day 22

Early morning, we drove for 45 min to reach the Waitomo Caves – a cave with glowworms. We signed up for the black labyrinth tour which required us to walk through the cave and whizz down the river to observe the glow worms. Due to its dangerous path, I could not bring my DSLR camera to capture video inside.

Instead, our tour guide took picture for us during the cave tour.

Although the tour guide was unable to take pictu...

Day 19

Australia is a wonderful country and it is sad to say goodbye to it. Now, I continue my adventure to New Zealand by taking an 11am flight to Auckland. In my opinion, I find that the New Zealand border is more strict in terms of ensuring visitors are free from biohazard risks. This is understandable because many of New Zealand’s plants and animals are distinctive and originated from the pre-historic ages, free from human...
